Our Mandates

The mandate of the association is to serve the interests of the Northern Ontario
aquaculture operators who share a common interest in a viable, sustainable northern
aquaculture industry.

To facilitate this goal, the objectives are:

To ensure ongoing research and development on issues pertaining

specifically

to

the

Northern Ontario aquaculture industry;

*

To liaise with government agencies and advocate on behalf of the

Northern

Ontario

aquaculture industry with respect to policies and

regulations;

*

To provide education and public relations services to organizations,

interest

groups,

media representatives, and the general public to ensure

factual

information

a

bout and

general awareness of the industry;

*

To generally promote and enhance the Northern Ontario

aquaculture industry;

*

To provide information for and act as liaison between the members of the

Corporation;

*

Promoting and protecting the interests and conserving the rights of

those

engaged in

the aquaculture industry in Northern Ontario and

incidental

businesses;

*

Ensuring uniformity in usage, custom and trade conditions;

*

Protecting the business interests of the members;

*

Providing business information and statistics of interest to business

persons in

the

Northern Ontario aquaculture industry;

*

Maintaining and improving the standards of the Northern

Ontario aquaculture industry.
